This week’s episode of the excellent US doco series The Sixties turns its attention to the small screen.
Americans gathered around “the tube”, to be informed and entertained by the news, The Twilight Zone, The Fugitive, I Dream of Jeannie, Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, and more. Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Dick and Tom Smothers, Carol Burnett, Dick Cavett, Diahann Carroll, Carl Reiner, Vince Gilligan, Petula Clark and others describe how the ground-breaking, rule-breaking, norm-bending dramas, historical events, and sitcoms reflected and influenced who we were.
7:30pm Tuesday on SBS ONE.

Some might argue that the broadcast quality of Australian FTA TV is still stuck in the 60s
Aaahhh memories…. 🙂
The Sixties have been wonderful series, I remember watching some of this footage when I was growing up. TV one really looking forward too, I think most of American shows that came to Australia I watched and remember them.
Thanks for the tip, just set the PVR.
