Eaten Alive ananconda stunt coming to Discovery

A man swallowed whole by an anaconda -say it's not for TV ratings?

2014-11-06_1414Controversial documentary Eaten Alive is set to air in Australia on Discovery channel but a broadcast date has not been locked in yet.

The special airs internationally in December and Discovery usually follows suit with big events such as its simultaneous Skyscraper Live walk this week.

Paul Rosolie will supposedly be swallowed whole by an anaconda whilst wearing a “snake-proof” suit. It’s not abundantly clear why…

Naturally, it is already raising questions about animal welfare, but Rosolie has tweeted:

You kinda hope that the snake would win this stunt but a promo for the special suggests that the stunt has already been completed.

  1. This is a ludicrous stunt.

An anaconda coils around its prey, constricting itself and crushing its prey’s bones. Once the prey is suffocated and its bones shattered, the anaconda is able to swallow it.

I highly doubt that Rosolie will allow the snake to either suffocate him or crush his bones, in which case the anaconda won’t be able to eat him.

The Discovery Channel is sinking to new depths by showing this garbage.

  2. The question “why?” seems appropriate.

Who wakes up one day and says to themselves, ‘gee I wonder what being eaten by a snake would be like’?!?
