US procedural Forever, which is coming to Nine, is the latest US series to win a full season order of 22 episodes.

The series stars Ioan Gruffudd as a New York City medical examiner who is immortal.

Created by Matt Miller (Chuck) it premiered to 8.3 US million viewers followed by around 5 million for subsequent episodes.

It follows full season orders for How to Get Away With Murder, Black-ish, Gotham, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, Madam Secretary, NCIS: New Orleans, Stalker, Scorpion and Marry Me.

Meanwhile ABC series Selfie, which stars ex-Doctor Who star Karen Gillan and John Cho, will not proceed past 13 episodes.

  1. On the face of it, it seems to have the hallmarks of Elementary which didn’t really grab me. Interested to see if this show has decent storyline

  2. This is a good show – witty and different. I’d encourage everyone to watch the pilot. Much better than you’d expect. The series also stars Alana De La Garza from Law and Order/Do No Harm

  3. Forever is still likely to axed at the end of the season though. It is simply doing a bit better than Selfie and Manhattan Love Story.

    US networks are making fewer midseason replacements, and valuing syndication more, so more Fall freshman shows are getting a full season then being axed.

    Madam Secretary’s ratings jumped 20% with 18-49s last Sunday improving its chances of renewal. Jane The Virgin could be axed.
