ABC appoints new Head of Factual
Another exec fro CJZ Productions joins ABC.
Steve Bibb, currently Executive Producer of Factual at Cordell Jigsaw Zapruder, will take over from Phil Craig, who departs to join Discovery Networks.
He is the second CJZ executive to become an ABC TV exec in less than a year, following on from Jon Casimir as Head of Entertainment.
Bibb joined Cordell Jigsaw Productions in 2010 after nearly a decade at Nine as producer and executive producer. He is a former newspaper journalist for Fairfax, News International and News Corp. His credits include Great Southern Land, Two Men in China, Hardliners, MegaTruckers and Wanted.
“To be offered the role of Head of Factual at the ABC is a rare honour – a privilege – and it is truly exciting to be a part of a first class creative team at the national broadcaster,” he said,
“If you have a passion for storytelling, The ABC is the place to be. It’s a place where you can tell stories relevant to modern Australia in a fresh and compelling way across a diverse range of topics, and I look forward to working with the in-house factual teams and the wider independent production community.”
Adrian Swift, Head of Content and Creative Development added, “Steve Bibb is a superb story teller and comes to the role with a background in news, documentary and blue chip factual series. But most of all, he can tell a story that connects with audiences. I’m genuinely delighted to be working with him to enhance and redefine our factual strategy in the coming years.”
Bibb begins in mid January.
