TV Tonight turns 8!

35,000 posts later the 'go-to' site is still going strong, thanks to you.

2015-01-03_1516

Today marks 8 years since TV Tonight launched as a humble blog on the interwebs!

There are now more than 35,000 published posts and over 350,000 comments, 128,000 registered users, and over 14,000 Twitter followers.

Last year the site hit 550,000 Unique Visitors and 2 million page views per month.

In the last 12 months the site also introduced the weekly Newsletter (with added ‘behind the scenes’ content) now at 2,280 subscribers and continued to break stories and scoops that have made it the “go-to” site for industry and public alike. The site’s National Living TV Treasures list was one of several stories that made it onto television itself.

This year I can promise more developments …a little more on this is just around the corner.

The last 12 months was another big year in interviews, including several international names such as James Nesbitt, Ricky Martin, Beau Willimon, Paula Abdul, Lucy Lawless, Grant Show and The Inbetweeners. There were even a few personal heroes in the mix this year….

But it’s thanks to you that the site has lasted for 8 years. Your staying power is fantastic, and it’s what keeps the industry taking notice. They may not always love your comments, but as we saw last year, fans can affect change. The one thing we are all agreed on is passion for the small screen.

So as I look to 2015 and another year of blogging, here’s a list of the talent, creatives and execs who spoke to TV Tonight last year.

cheers!
David

  1. Very professional site David. Thank you for giving tv viewers a site to give their views without overcencensoring comments which a lot of unAustralian websites and forums are guilty of in this country.

  2. Congratulations, David. This is my favourite go-to site every day. You have an amazing commitment, passion and ability to keep us informed about a wide range of TV-related issues. Here’s to many more years of TV Tonight!

  3. What an impressive list of interviews! the cream of Aussie TV .Huge Congrats David on another amazing year! Looking forward to whats ahead for 2015 Cheers

  4. Thanks David Knox and TV Tonight in giving me a real telescopic view of Australia’s media industry. I’m studying media at University of Adelaide and this blog helps a great deal to find out how to write articles relating to radio, television and movie programs, performers and creative minds.

  5. Congrats David. Easily the best blog in my browser favourites.
I visit at least daily because you do such a damned fine job of updating it with fresh content, often with scoops I have not read elsewhere.

  6. Happy Birthday tvtonight. We stay because you’re passionate about industry we love (and hate). You’re commitment is amazing. You must live and love this job and good on you.

  7. Congratulations….we share an anniversary. (its our wedding anniversary but we are a lot older than you ! ). I start the day, every day by reading your pages and I look forward to many more years of doing this.
