TEN brings back The Brady Bunch

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! TEN upgrades The Brady Bunch to the primary channel with a classic episode.

2015-02-05_0956Well this is all rather hilarious.

Driven by the audience response to the wonderful Maureen McCormick on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, TEN has decided to add The Brady Bunch (currently playing on ELEVEN) to the TEN channel itself.

It will now replay the original series at 6pm Saturdays, beginning aptly with the classic episode “The Subject Was Noses.”

Yes, that’s the episode where the football hits Marcia Brady in the nose just before prom night, and later leading to the memorable line courtesy of Jan Brady, “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!”

Of course getting whacked in the face with a football doesn’t seem anywhere near as bad as swimming around in elephant dung.

  1. @Hoin – Bruce Gordon used to be International Sales Director of Paramount. WIN didn’t buy Paramount. They bought Crawford Productions. Paramount tends to not have ‘output deals’, hence The Brady Bunch may have been available to anyone if the last broadcaster didn’t renew.

  2. What’s the bet that Ms McCormack gets some traction as a celebrity in Australia after IACGMOOH, much in the same way as Mel Scary Spice? I can see her panelling on Project etc…

  3. I’m loving Maureen on I’m a celebrity. At first I thought she’d be all flaky and annoying and just get on everyone’s nerves, but what a trouper.
I made the mistake of checking out The Brady Bunch Hour on YouTube though, truly truly awful television.

  4. @ Hoin:
WIN didn’t buy Paramount. Mr Gordon had a good relationship with the company which probably continues to this day.

But as for the Brady Bunch coming back to TEN… pass.

  5. I was thinking they should bring The Brady Bunch back with Maureen doing so great on I’m a Celebrity. But I thought it would return to it’s 5.30 slot on 11. So much moere entertaining than their current 5.30 offering, Becker.

    1. They have recycled BB so many times. No offence fans but 11 needs to get with the 21st Century and offer something not too old prior to the six nights a week of Family Feud.

  6. WIN Corp trying it on again. In 2006 during a dispute with Nine, WIN TV blocked Bert’s Family Feud and showed The Brady Bunch at 5:30 weekdays. WIN had just bought Paramount Pictures. WIN did this for three months until public outrage forced them to drop it and bring back Bert. WIN is now the major shareholder in TEN, so now this nonsense has come to Channel TEN.
