  1. The Block – 742K. That is going to hurt this show a lot for 9. How could a Channel 9 show be beaten by MKR?
However this show did better in terms of age demos.

  2. bettestreep2008

I’m enjoying IACGMOOH but agree with the timeslot and some parts of the format.

    1. 90 minute eps are not required – especially since the 60 min show overruns to about 90 minutes in the first place.
    2. More time devoted to the challenges. The cheetah and the rock climb challenges lasted between 2-3 minutes. Compare this to Survivor which made the challenges and the tribal council the highlights of a perfectly edited 42 minute ep.
    3. And less Julia and Chris mugging for the camera.

I know the majority of the show is live – the other parts could be edited down to fit a 60 minute ep.

And then people can point fingers at MKR and The Block which were recorded over 3 months ago and still go well over the time schedule.

  3. Watched MKR on 7 then How to commit murder but that was complete rubbish and the watched recorded IAC which was fun.
Also recorded ;ate 11pm German movie on SBS to watch soon.

  4. Interested to see how many people stick with HTGAWM next Tuesday.

Somehow I overlooked how well Big bang theory does, never realised it rated that highly.

  5. Thought “How to get away with murder’ would have done better, but still quite good, also think you need to watch a few episodes of any new show to know the characters etc. don’t think you can pass judgment on a series after a one hour episode. Hope it does well as I am sure it will be a great series once you understand the concept of the show.

    • harrypotter1994

Yeah I agree with that too unless I really dislike a drama I usually give it 3 eps before I pass judgement. Too much groundwork has to be set in ep1

  6. With 3 reality shows at the same time no one can watch them live – I watch MKR, then I’m A Celebrity is recorded on IQ & watched afterwards, I IQ The Block the following afternoon.
I would like to see the time shift numbers for The Block – a lot of people are probably doing the same thing!

  7. @ Jake S, I agree. I was expecting it to be the biggest show of last night and even the week.

The Blacklist premiered to 1,596,000, Revenge 2,067,000. It’ll be interesting to see the consolidated numbers next week.

  8. Surely the alarm bells will be ringing at Channel 9? The Block’s numbers against MKR are terrible – imagine how big the Big Bang Theory would be without such a late (and delayed) starting time. It might not beat those huge numbers for MKR but it would be even better than the 9pm numbers are.

  9. Very exciting episode of mkr last night although at times I did feel like I was watching a drama .

Laughed out loud at what goes around justin timberlake

  10. Ten’s I’m a Celeb is in trouble. They need to change the timeslot and fast or its doomed.
Still believe Ten needs to move there prime reality shows to 7pm. Wake up Ten before its to late

  11. Good numbers for HTGAWM although I thought it would be a lot higher given all the promotion. Revenge and The Blacklist both nudged 2 million from memory.

    • They also started at 8:30 and not almost 9:08 when HTGAWM started last night. I firmly believe the later starts are costing the networks lots of viewers but I also don’t think they care. By next year we’ll probably have 2 hour plus episodes of MKR every night.

    • Seven aren’t going to get much more than 1m in the overnights for anything starting at 9pm. Only a certain proportion of the MKR audience will want to watch the drama they put on. It will probably pick up 200-300k in the +7s plus some catch-ups.

The Blacklist and Revenge were only getting 800k when put it on later at night, though still over 1m watching them with the +7s.

    • If I recall correctly the blacklist was fast tracked. That would’ve helped its numbers. I don’t think high numbers like that can be expected these days for much hyped premiers when networks refuse to fast track. Season 1 of revenge aired not fast tracked in early 2012. Things have changed a lot in the last 3 years but networks refuse to move with the times.
