South Australian duo Celine and Vicky have quit My Kitchen Rules, citing ill health.

News Corp reports Celine quit on doctors orders, after a severe bout of food poisoning saw her hospital-bound for 15 days.

She did not get ill during filming, but was admitted to hospital after eating out during a production break.

Kaponias said in a statement: “Unfortunately, I had to leave MKR after getting food poisoning from eating out during time off in the competition. It was a severe bout that saw me admitted to hospital for 15 days. I am so sad our opportunity was cut short due to my illness, but I want to thank everyone for their amazing support and I’m grateful for the amazing opportunity of MKR.

“I’m back on my feet now and won’t give up the dream of being on TV/radio entertaining everybody and I’m already back in the kitchen with mum!”

Meanwhile NSW cowboy Robert Murphy and his daughter Lynzey will face Queensland dads Dave Evans and Rob McKean in Monday’s elimination cook-off.

  1. How ironic that food has caused them to exit the show. Not too sure though how many viewers will actually miss them being on the show, eviction was nearing for them anyways.

  2. If they stayed on the show it was only delaying inevitable eviction anyway. Celine (named after Celine Dion during the hype of Titanic 18 yrs ago no doubt…cringe) was annoying. Can’t believe Kat and Andre have made it this far somehow, another team delaying the inevitable.
