TEN’s two-part archival special featuring Michael Parkinson interviews will begin next week.
Part 1 of Parky’s Favourite Australians will air 7:30pm Wednesday, April 22 and is expected to conclude a week later.
This includes retrospective interviews previously conducted for the series he hosted for TEN, Parkinson in Australia.
Legendary broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson CBE has interviewed some of Australia’s most famous and influential people. Parky is one of the world’s most revered journalists and in this special two-part television event, he takes a look back some of his most unforgettable and enlightening moments with those famous Australians.
From the ever-entertaining and flamboyant Dame Edna Everage to the more confronting and serious Ian Thorpe, the impressive guest list includes Kerry Packer, Bob Hawke, Joh Bjelke-Petersen, Paul Hogan, Clive James, Jack Fingleton, Shane Warne, Kylie Minogue, Hugh Jackman, Robert Helpmann, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe.

I always liked Parky, At least it is not MKR and The Block…..at least it is people being themselves and not contrived reality nonsense.
I see next Wednesday is going to rate quite low – this and a double Wonderland won’t set ratings alight
So Ten are now doing a 20 to 1 of Parky’s best bits? (that sound was my head hitting the desk)
It’s just a clip show? I thought perhaps they were going to repeat the best of the interviews – or at least fair chunks of them. (Not that I understand doing that, but it seems a better option than a clip show).
I first thought – “Aha! A ratings winner for TEN.”
But then I realised it’s up against MKR and The Block – so I hope TEN will be happy with third place.
