“A little crook” Guy Sebastian in second rehearsal at Eurovision

Guy Sebastian will perform in the first half of the Eurovision Song Contest Final on Saturday.

That will mean an early morning start for the Aussies who want to see him Live, given the event begins at 5am AEST.

It also means he will have his work cut out, given acts in the second half frequently score better than those in the first. Final placings are not yet announced.

Sebastian, who has now had his second rehearsal at Wiener Stadthalle, is also overcoming a headcold.

“Come Saturday I will be fine, I’m still a little crook but I will be fine,” he told the Press Conference.

Like a pro, he sang through his cold at his second rehearsal. He has performed it more than 100 times in the past week alone.

According to the bookies, Australia has now slipped to 4th place in betting behind Sweden, Italy and Russia.

Meanwhile the Second Semi Final rehearsal has also been undertaken with the Aussie jury casting their votes in Sydney early this morning.

It airs at 5am tomorrow on SBS.

  1. I think we are going overboard thinking Guy will win. Our involvement is a one off ‘thank you’ gesture from the Eurovision organisers for their 60th anniversary celebrations.

I can’t see millions of European voters giving us their votes. What typically happens is for one country always giving their 12 points to their neighour country and rival countries giving each other Null points.

I am just hoping we don’t end up last with Null points.

And a song doesn’t have to be a stinker to end up dead last in Eurovision. The contest is known to be very political.

My money is on Sweden – because unlike the Brownlow and Melbourne Cup – the favourite in Eurovision always does very well.
