18 Comments:

  1. While the numbers are down, it still did well in the current climate and Seven thumped the competition, conspicuously Nine, 19.5 points ahead.

2- To those who have said on here and other threads that the show has gone on too long, it premiered on February 2, and concluded its run on May 4. This means the duration of this series was 13 weeks, the exact amount of time as former seasons.

  2. Think all figures are down on reality shows lately, people can only take so much of the same thing over and over again its about time channels tried new avenues and not keep relying on the same things year after year in the hope that programmes will revive themselves, once the use by date has passed put it to rest.

  3. wow, more people watched the entire show then they did winner announced. Channel 7 must be a bit disappointed with that. that’s what happens when you drag the season out for 2 long. Next year they should make the show a bit smaller.

  4. Shoudy Chen

Ouch. This years MKR Winner Announced went down compared to last year, but 7 managed to win the night.
I am expecting some good numbers here for Ten tonight when they tackle against two renovation reality shows. Two Renovation shows going together would be an overkill.

  5. I think we may see some adjustments for the Winner Announced figure for MKR. The Grand Final coded portion of the show was only down 200,000 on last year which isn’t too bad. Let the three way battle begin tonight.

  6. Seven may soon have milked MKR dry.

My Kitchen Rules – Winner Announced.

    2012: 2,675,000
    2013: 2,952,000
    2014: 2,596,000
    2015: 2,039,000

Not sure Seven would be too happy losing half a million viewers in one year.

    • These days, getting over 2M viewers for over 2.5 hours is still an incredible achievement. Channel 10 will be excited if Masterchef does half as well as MKR.

      • MKR will never achieve what Masterchef did in their grand final episodes… 3.5 to 4 million for it first two seasons… But Masterchef will have to work its butt off to get good ratings… hopefully it can grow from last year!

    • True but after 4 years to get 2 million is still pretty good. They got great figures all season and since they own the show concept the show would still be a goldmine for 7.

  7. I’m not saying they are bad numbers, but they are lower than I expected for MKR. What I am most shocked about is that it had done what The Voice did with the winner announced lower than the overall finale night… that must be disappointing to Channel 7. I am hoping Masterchef kicks off with decent numbers tonight… two renovation shows at the one time is overkill.
