Nine has rescheduled Walking the Nile from next week, which is a bit of a shame as I thought it was rather good.

But I did wonder whether it was suited to Nine’s audience. I think it takes time to bed shows in when they are not a perfect fit…

It will not screen at 10:30pm Thursday in Sydney and Brisbane. There are 3 more eps to go.

Nine will repeat the movie Casino Royale at 8:30pm next Wednesday night.

Life on the Dole and Neighbours at War are both out.

Walking the Nile screens at 10:50pm Thursday in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

In Melbourne Movie: Argo screens at 8:30pm on Thursday with Walking the Nile at 10:50pm, but Life on the Dole is out.

Meanwhile next Tuesday Supersize: Saving Britain’s 70 Stone Man screens as a 10 and 11pm double in Sydney and Brisbane.

  1. I’ve always assumed that much of 9’s programming they either get as part of a bundle and try to fit it in or it’s bought literally sight unseen as they seem to show an awful lot of stuff that obviously is never going to appeal to their core audience.

  2. “But I did wonder whether it was suited to Nine’s audience.”

Exactly. Had this been on SBS or ABC it would have been fine. A perfect follow-up to Simon Reeve’s Caribbean series which recently screened.

  3. I knew a nature doco at 8:30PM wouldn’t work, exactly as I predicted on this site. Also good to see the demise of Life on the Dole, a show which never should have gone to air in the first place. The mystery is why Nine kept it on air for so long, it should have been pulled after the shocking ratings for the first episode.
