Channel 78 will begin test broadcasting Victorian horse racing today, ahead of a formal launch on Memsie Stakes Day, 29th August.
It will screen in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, replacing Seven’s former Fresh Ideas TV.
The first race is scheduled for 11:33am AEST from Racing.com Park, Pakenham.
A solution for regional free-to-air coverage and re-transmission through Foxtel are under discussion.
Further details at Racing Victoria.

Have seen ads about a certain betting service doing the same thing on their website.
Racing.com Park. What kind of name is that?
the sound is terrible on the broadcast. have the TV on volume 85 (out of 100) and its just audable. Most channels the volume is set at about 20.
hopefully they will fix that.
If Seven can do a channel dedicated to racing, what’s stopping Nine and Ten doing something similar with other sports? Isn’t this effectively like a 4th channel? Wonder if it will be included in ratings…
Wonder no more: no, it is a datacasting channel.
