Freeview has been shortlisted for an award at the Videonet Connected TV Awards in London.

The awards, now in their fourth year, are part of the Connected TV World Summit held in late June.

FreeviewPlus has been nominated in the ‘Best TV/Video Service update or launch’ category for its green button HbbTV service which includes broadband delivered catch-up.

Chief Executive Officer Liz Ross said “It’s exciting for the Freeview team and technology partner Massive Interactive to be again rewarded with this recognition for their work and commitment to bring the best interactive TV experience to Australians.

“The shortlist is further acknowledgment of FreeviewPlus’ leadership in hybrid television technology and services, working to continually improve and grow our product to offer the very best to Australian viewers.”

In March Freeview won the Best Enhanced TV Service award category at the International Interactive TV Awards in France.

    1. Get ready to hold your sides & slap your knee: 7 West Media have also been shortlisted in the “Multiscreen & Streaming” category for their Aus Open Tennis coverage.

But seriously, if you’re still looking for a laugh, check out YouTube for coverage of the 2015 ‘International Interactive TV Awards’ they won earlier. That’s one classy awards show…

IIRC, the category they won is ~15 mins in.
