It's spelling bee meets shiny floor in TEN's upcoming family series.

TEN has released first vision of its upcoming series The Great Australian Spelling Bee, hosted by Grant Denyer and Chrissie Swan.
Due later this year, the format sees kids aged 8 – 13 tested on words, definitions, grammar and problem-solving.
Did someone say ‘shiny floor?’

Typical Oz Commercial TV not an original idea among the lot of em another US hand me down gawd help us if TV producers had to think of something original for a living,Australian TV the 2nd rate version of decent TV
That promo takes cues from MasterChef and The Voice, selling us on watching ordinary people with big dreams. But I am doubtful as to how spelling will sustain a stripped format. Current promos suggest that The Bachelor is coming after MasterChef once again – perhaps 2 nights of Bachelor and 3 nights of Spelling?
Quite frankly the sooner people stop associating the word “stripped” format with this title the better off we will all be.
Yeah if TEN have success with this Nine or Seven will copy it no doubt about it.
Is this really going to be served up in primetime multiple nights a week? Surely it would suit the Family Fortunes 6pm slot much better.
If this does well, what’s the bet 7 or 9 do a similar program based on solving Math equations.
Or resurrect Letters & Numbers… which I would be thrilled with… unless it’s on Channel 9.
a return to cheap, mediocre programs that Ten are so famous for, like are you paying attention, Bingle, the shire, Yasmine’s getting married … etc etc ……
Have You Been Paying Attention? is achieving quite high at 8.40. Which is quite remarkable. I think it will be more like The Bachelor range.
Not cooking, not Reno, might give it a watch. 🙂
Grant Denyer = No thanks…
Wow. They make it looks really good! I see they have taken inspiration from The Voice promos.
The voice promos arent great this year. Seems like either they’ve run out of talent or just happy with mediocre promotion. Either way, this Spelling Bee promo makes me want to watch
hey, it won’t be perfect, but at least it’s not another renovation/singing or cooking show!
boring, B o r i n g.
Gee. At least give the show a chance.
Yes. This show needs to deliver good ratings
I’m a spelling/grammar aficionado, so this is right up my alley.
Not a bad promo, will at least give it a try.
