Terrible timing for ABC News B'fast tech stuff up. Michael Rowland's face says it all #mediawatch (via @newscomauHQ)https://t.co/Bv4KDK2wNS

In what will surely go down as one of the biggest blunders of the year, a technical mistake yesterday during ABC News Breakfast’s coverage of the memorial for the first anniversary of MH17 threw in a clip of Dylan Moran in Black Books.
“We apologise, that clearly wasn’t Sir Angus Houston,” said Michael Rowland. “We hopefully can hear from him now.”
Amended.

Q “How many people actually work at the ABC?”
&
A “About half of them.”
How long before the confected outrage starts.
This was at 8:37am, not during the 11am broadcast, but can’t understand why it took 10 seconds to get if off. So much for this advanced technology that’s supposed to eliminate things like this and have fewer people doing more. Unfortunately, there’s still the “human error factor”. But no “fade to black” ability? 10 seconds?
