17 Comments:

  1. Watched M/Chef on10.
Recorded tennis on 7 and watched some until cycling started. Then watched SBS30 until cycling finished.
    Good night of TV 🙂

  2. Melbourne & the MCG are home to the Top 2 TV programs of 2015 so far…

SOO Game 2 & ICC Cricket World Cup.

ICC CWC also had the highest network share of 2015 but (like the Men’s Australian Open tennis final), it was outside the official ratings period.

Lowest SOO ratings in some time, especially Sydney!

  3. What is the record rating for a multichannel telecast? I reckon the ashes is on the way to get near a million viewers, since there is no origin to draw away the viewers…

680,000 on gem is massive when SOO is on at the same time

  4. Watched the ashes first session and was flicking between that and origin. Masterchef didnt get a look in and it wont tonight either with footy on and the cricket. Will record them.

Ended up watching the last 10 minutes of SOO just because it was so good to watch.

  5. bettestreep2008

I am surprised that MCA still rated well up against SOO and Ashes. Obviously there are a lot of us who don’t care about rugby or cricket.

    • Given that the kick off fore Origin was roughly 8:30pm AEST and the Ashes first ball was about 10 minutes early, a lot of Masterchef fans (at least on the east coast) probably watched Masterchef and then the sport match of their choice at 8:30pm.

  6. not surprising that origin was down, absolute drubbing, never seen such a one sided origin game quite like that. Considering the magnitude of the defeat, I think they would be pretty happy with the ratings, apart from Sydney it held up well. Shame though, had it been anything close to a contest I think it may have gone close to being an origin record.

  7. The #Origin match from last night was down from match 2 from the MCG but Channel 9 still won the night. Not only that but the #Ashes series drew higher ratings on GEM.

  8. The Ashes dented any chance that SoO had to break any tv viewing records. That, and most of the cockroaches probably changed channels at half to do watch the ashes. This is clearly shown in the post match ratings, where Brisbane had more viewers than Sydney. #QLDER
