Nine auditioning for next renovation series

Nine is seeking couples for their next renovation show, which sounds a lot like Reno Rumble.

With no new series of The Block officially confirmed, Nine is now casting for “the next great renovation show.”

The untitled project is seeking couples / family teams or friends over the age of 18 with a sense of humour, who are available for a shooting period from December to the end of January 2016.

The series is understood to be produced by Watercress Productions, and features Block talent including host Scott Cam.

Previous home renovation experience is not required from applicants.

TV Tonight understands the show will be seeking interest from the public to provide properties for use in the show, which also formed the basis of Reno Rumble earlier this year.

If Nine has no obvious property in readiness for another season of The Block, then green-lighting another season of Reno Rumble could logically take its place.

You can apply before October 16 here.

  1. Time to hang the tool belt up for a while and come up with some fresh ideas. The Block’s ratings are on a downhill slide, Reno Rumble hardly set the world on fire and House Rules has wisely been put out to pasture. Hot Plate and Restaurant Revolution fizzled rather than sizzled. Celebrity Apprentice was dead on arrival and TBL is a dead man walking. Australia has run out of talent to sustain The Voice and X Factor. Not a fan of 800 words but it proven audiences are craving some Aussie drama.

  2. a plea to the great australian fta viewers (who are becoming an endangered species). please do not apply to this show and teach channel 9 to try and think outside the square or should that be block.
