Report: I Am Cait set for renewal

US series I Am Cait, which documented Caitlyn Jenner’s transition, is getting a renewal according to media reports.

Buzzfeed reports the show will be renewed, despite lower-than-expected numbers.

E! has not confirmed the news.

I Am Cait premiered to 2.7 million live-plus-same-day viewers in the US, which was lower than anticipated, given the media hype surrounding the show. Despite it dropping thereafter it stabilised later in the season and ended with 1.13m for the finale.

But as a channel brand Jenner has achieved plenty of attention for E! as well as goodwill for its transgender community work.

I Am Cait also airs in Australia on E!
