Homeland returns to TEN for its fifth season on Monday, October 5, at 9.30pm.

Fast-tracked just hours after its US premiere, season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison’s (Claire Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief.

This season, which includes Aussie Miranda Otto, is filmed in Berlin, as the first American television series to be shot entirely in Germany.

Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the frontline in the war on terror, Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.

Settled into true domesticity with her new boyfriend Jonas and her daughter Franny, situations arise that see Carrie thrust back into the world she left behind.

Starring Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend, this season will see new cast including Australian actress Miranda Otto in the role of Allison Carr, the CIA’s current Berlin station chief, and Alexander Fehling who plays Jonas.

  1. Hooray! This’ll be about 12 hours after it’s shown in the US. If Ten can actually start this at 9:30 and not some random number of minutes after, I might actually watch this on their channel. I just hope the ’10’ button on my remote still works.

  2. Didn’t read the full post above because I want to avoid season 4 info, rather amusingly I have just started watching all of the season 4 eps that I PVRd last year on Ten. I hadn’t realised I had them sitting there unwatched for so long 😮 looks like I’ll be able to finish them and jump straight into season 5 Yay
