Long-running sketch comedy MADtv was recently announced as landing a revival by The CW.
The series ran from 1995-2009 on FOX and helped launch the careers of comedians including Alex Borstein, Ike Barinholtz, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Simon Helberg, and Orlando Jones.
Eight new episodes will feature new cast members, as well as special appearances from returning cast members who will host.
Executive producer David E. Salzman said, “The MADtv franchise is as vibrant as ever, thanks largely to social and digital media appealing to a fan base numbering in the millions that relates to the show’s brand of authentic and irreverent cross-cultural comedy.
“We will continue to present the hard-hitting, laugh-out-loud, wall-to-wall pop culture parody our fans expect, but in a fresh, new way.”
MADtv aired in Australia on Nine.

Enjoyed some of their work when it used to be on Nine here, so will be interesting to see what they come up with this time.
I enjoyed MadTV back on my YouTube. One of the funniest segments that I’ve seen was the Tickle Me Emo part back in 2006. Absolute gold!
Thanks for indulging me! I would say, YouTube MadTV and see what you think. Cheers everyone
Well well! This is surprising but fantastic news. I stumbled across MadTV late on Nine one night and soon enough it became an obsession that had to be seen despite the haphazard scheduling! Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key went on to do a show for the Comedy Channel that caught the attention of President Obama, and as far as I’m concerned people like Alex Borstein, Will Sasso, Nicole Sullivan and Mchael McDonald are all legends largely thanks to this show
Helped launch their careers? What careers? I’ve still not heard of any if them
Presumably you’re not in America. A domestic career is still a career.
Alex Borstein = Family Guy.
C’mon, Clare. Surely you’ve heard of Helberg? He plays Howard Wolowitz in that show that we’re always complaining about that Nine, and now Seven, put on way too often.
Agree that the others are somewhat further down the fame tree.
Oh was that Howard? Sorry I didn’t take notice . I love Howard . I actually think he is overlooked in terms of awards n fame compared to Sheldon and Leonard
Orlando Jones = Sleepy Hollow
Key and Peele have their own show, I think it’s on Comedy Channel here
