Next week SBS 2 will screen two MTV comedies Awkward and Faking It, both of which have already aired on Pay TV.

Awkward (pictured, top) premiered in 2011 and is currently in its 5th season in the US.

Faking It ran for three seasons from 2014.

Awkward
8.30pm Monday, 30 May on SBS 2

Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards) is a 15-year-old girl whose life begins to change when a simple accident becomes an epic misunderstanding and is blown way out of proportion.

Narrated in first-person through Jenna’s blog posts titled Awkward, the humour behind the struggles and experiences is a universally relatable teenage experience.

From a secret relationship with a popular guy, to being undermined by a mean girl, and parents who just don’t get it – Jenna’s misfortune will eventually serve as the catalyst for amazing change, but not without some missteps and mishaps along the way.

Faking It
8.55pm Monday, 30 May on SBS 2

Faking It is a new romantic comedy about two best friends who love each other, but in slightly different ways.

At Hester High School in Austin, being different is considered popular. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk) are mistakenly outed as lesbians at popular gay student Shane Harvey’s (Michael Willett) house party, which launches them both into instant celebrity status.

Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma and Amy decide to keep up their romantic ruse – despite Amy’s true feelings.
