Airdate: Road to Rio

Ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in August, Seven begins Road to Rio a Live, weekly half hour panel show every Saturday.

It will feature athletes and their stories, introductions to debut Olympic athletes, a look back at Olympic history plus news from home and overseas.

Special guests and experts include Olympics ‘mastercaster’ Bruce McAvaney, four-time Olympian Lauren Jackson, the ‘voice of cycling’ Phil Liggett, gold medallist Steve Hooker, Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony flag bearer Andrew Gaze, Oarsome Foursome’s Drew Ginn, and three-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist Tamsyn Lewis.

A rotating panel of co-hosts includes Johanna Griggs, Mel McLaughlin, Jim Wilson, Kylie Gillies, Mark Beretta, Ryan Phelan and Giaan Rooney.

12pm every Saturday, May 28 – July 30 on Seven.

  1. 12 noon on a Saturday? Much have no hopes for this show. Ratings for Saturday daytime are quite low too, considering what the top 20 looks like. I am surprised that this is live. Wouldn’t it be better off to air at 10am off Weekend Sunrise, or at 4.30pm prior to the Weekend news where people are actually going to watch?
