Supergirl producers have confirmed Superman will be making an appearance in the show’s second season.
The Hollywood Reporter advises Superman will first be seen visiting his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in National City at the beginning of the season.
“Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
Casting is currently underway.
On the small screen Superman has been famously played by George Reeves, Dean Cain and Tom Welling amongst others. Who will be next….?

I love this show it has been done right from the start. It annoyed me they showed his shadow and hand in the first season and not revealed him but maybe it was due to casting issues who knows but can’t wait to see who he is and how good he is received and if they spin off and where they start him off. they will milk this for all its worth and I just cant wait!!!!!!!!!
I believe there’s a movement to get Tom Welling don the blue underoos
Viewers never got to see him actually be superman.
rubbish we did in the final ep of small ville
Smallville was about all the stuff before he became superman so seeing him become superman in the final episode wasn’t enough. It was only 1 episode. I probably could’ve worded my previous comment better.
I would expect them to hire an unknown actor
As Dean Cain already appears as Supergirl’s human foster father in the series, it’ll be amusing if he just turned up and said “Surprise! It’s me, all along!”
Dean Cain was a good superman in Lois & Clark. I wasn’t aware that he had a role in supergirl. I hope netflix gets the streaming rights to supergirl.
