Supergirl confirms final season

"I’m forever grateful," says star Melissa Benoist as upcoming sixth season is confirmed to be the last.

The upcoming sixth season of Supergirl will be its final season, expected in 2021.

Variety reports the CW and producers Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions made a joint decision to conclude the series.

Star Melissa Benoist said on social media, “To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement. Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless. She’s had that impact on me, too. She’s taught me strength I didn’t know I had, to find hope in the darkest of places, and that we are stronger when we’re united. What she stands for pushes all of us to be better. She has changed my life for the better, and I’m forever grateful.

“I’m so excited that we get to plan our conclusion to this amazing journey, and I cannot wait for you to see what we have in store. I promise we’re going to make it one helluva final season.”

The series airs in Australia on FOX8.

  1. So Supergirl is finishing, Legends is just silly, and the Flash and Batwoman have severe cast issues coming into the next season. It will be interesting to see what will be left at the end of the 2020-21 season. After savere viewer fatigue, I wasn’t planning on watching any, but may check out Supergirl as it’s the last season. Although I found Arrows finale incredibly weak.
