Tony Bonner, who this week paid a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park to mark 50 years since Skippy‘s pilot was filmed, was also a guest on the Today show yesterday.
Today suggested it was 50 years since Skippy aired, but the National Film and Sound Archive indicates that’s still another 2 years away:

You have said that Today show had segmentmark “50 years since Skippy‘s pilot was filmed”. Doesn’t that coincide with the production date as per your extract from National Film and Sound Archive.

Apparently it aired first overseas in 1967 before airing premiering in Australia in early 1968. So maybe they were only a year off?
