And here is your first peek at the new-look Alf Garnett, from the revived sitcom Til Death Us Do Part.
He is played by Simon Day (The Fast Show) in the special that marks 60 years of BBC comedies. The cast also includes Lizzie Roper as Else, Sydney Rae White as Rita and Carl Au as Mike.
There’s also a photo of the revived Steptoe and Son, featuring Jeff Rawle (Drop the Dead Donkey) as Albert Steptoe and Ed Coleman as his son Harold.
A photo was recently released of the new Porridge cast with Kevin Bishop as Nigel ‘Fletch’ Fletcher, the grandson of Ronnie Barker’s original inmate, and Dave Hill (EastEnders) as Joe Lotterby.
Lastly, Kevin McNally reprises his role as Tony Hancock, whom he has played on stage and on radio for Hancock’s Half Hour. The cast also comprises Kevin Eldon as John Vere; Robin Sebastian as Kenneth Williams; Katy Wix as Hattie Jacques and Jon Culshaw as Sid James.
There are also revivals of Are You Being Served?, Goodnight Sweetheart and Keeping Up Appearances coming.
No word where these will surface in Australia as yet.

Nothing new under the sky, is there?!
There are new projects green lit all the time. But also room to celebrate a milestone.
Nothing beats the originals – accent on original!
No revivals will ever beat the Original Classics they were and still are fantastic and hilarious comedies
Surprises me they’re not doing an Only Fools and Horses given they did specials in 2001, 2002 and 2003, then again late last year Netflix picked up the rights to air episodes of Only Fools and Horses in the UK, so maybe the BBC can’t any more. Hope Hancock’s Half Hour sticks to what it was, it will be interesting if they do as it was really the original show about nothing long before Seinfeld came along.
Are there any horse drawn rag and bone men in London anymore? There are at least many prisoners still behind bars…
I saw one on “the bill” the other day, episode was made in 1989…
I loved all those…ill be interesting to see how they come out…
I wonder if the new Till death us do part will be faithful to original …….somehow i doubt it. Pity.
With political correctness the way it is Till death us do part will be unrecognisable.
