Sports legend John Bertrand and comedian Colin Lane are guests on Postcards this Friday.

But the show doesn’t seem to be covering South Australia and Western Australia very much these days?

UPDATE: Nine now confirms no longer airing primetime in WA & SA on Fridays. There are national repeats on GEM. That was quick!

Shane Crawford swaps the footy field for the deck of a world-class racing yacht, spending the day with John Bertrand who skippered Australia II to victory in the Americas Cup in 1983, ending 132 years of American domination and breaking the longest running record in the history of modern sport.

Livinia Nixon visits French Fantasies café on Toorak Road in South Yarra to make some gougères, French appetisers of puff pastry filled with cheese.

Lauren Phillips shops at the EST store in Hawthorn, stocking all-natural body products and homewares, and later catches up with Colin Lane who is currently appearing in the new production Extinction, written by Hannie Rayson. Together they explore the Arts Centre Melbourne, Albert Park Driving Range and the historic Astor Theatre on Chapel Street.

Shane Delia picks up some items on his shopping list at Fitzroy’s Casa Iberica, a Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American deli, and the Saint David Dairy before heading back to the retro-themed Ascot Food Store in Moonee Ponds to cook mouthwatering confit lobster burgers with owner David Stewart.

And you’ll find Glen Moriarty at Mount Hotham, Victoria’s highest ski resort. Australian alpine skier and Olympian Greta Small gives Glen a tour of the must-see attractions and resorts perfect for thrill-seekers and families this winter.

7:30pm Friday on Nine (Melbourne)

    1. I believe there are some specials coming, but suspect it won’t be a long term proposition. They made a bit of fuss over this being expanded, sounds like they changed their minds pretty swiftly.

  1. This is a piss take surely, these stories ? I’m sure the poor middle class viewers will be rushing out to make some French puff pastry gougeres to go with their confit lobster burgers. What a ridiculous choice of recipes – outside of Toorak anyway.
Remember the days when Nine ruled Friday nights with Burke’s Backyard ? Now this Saturday afternoon standard drivel… no wonder Nine is getting smashed.

  2. I read a couple of weeks ago that Ch9 had abandoned their plans of broadcasting Postcards in Adelaide & Perth to try and compete with BHG & TLR on Friday nights as it simply hasn’t resonated with audiences.

A quick check of the freeview guide for Friday in both states shows To Catch a Smuggler on at 7:30pm instead.
