Madeleine West in Neighbours return
She had one of Neighbours most memorable 'death scenes' but Madeline West is making a Ramsay St comeback.

In a classic soapie return stunt Madeleine West is to reprise her character Dee Bliss in Neighbours despite being ‘killed off’ 13 years earlier.
Dee famously vanished in a dramatic, if somewhat hilarious, scene driving off a ‘cliff’ as she set off for her honeymoon with new husband ‘Toadie’ (Ryan Moloney).
But her body was never recovered.
West, who also appears in upcoming drama The Wrong Girl, isn’t saying how she returns -meaning it could be a dream sequence (Bouncer’s dream?), flashback or brief cameo.
Madeleine West said: “It is a very rare and wonderful thing when an actor has the opportunity to step back into the shoes of a character they created, even more so when that character had not been seen for some 13 years and was one as beloved as Dee Bliss. For me, this return to Neighbours is something of a homecoming, to the place where I took my first tentative steps into the entertainment industry and where I truly learnt my craft.”
Neighbours Network TEN Executive Producer, Claire Tonkin, said: “Who can forget the iconic moment of Toadie and Dee’s car flying off the cliff after their wedding? For over a decade we have been left wondering about Dee’s true fate. We are overjoyed to welcome the wonderful Madeleine West back to Ramsay Street to provide answers and maybe some even bigger questions.”
Executive Producer, Jason Herbison, said: “It has been a dream of mine to have Madeleine return and, who knows, finally lay to rest what really happened to Dee. Not since Harold and Madge Bishop’s return has there been a bigger comeback. The atmosphere on the set is electric having Madeleine back in the fold.”
It isn’t the first time a Ramsay Street returning ‘from the dead’ with Harold Bishop famously turning up with amnesia five years after being swept out to sea, after falling from a cliff.
Neighbours begins a two week production week next week, with West set to return on screen in December and continuing in 2017.

Fingers crossed its not some dream sequence rubbish, bring her back properly and break up Toadies marriage to the boring Sonia.
Um… yeah. The most rumoured and speculated storyline is actually going to be happening. Any possible way of bringing her back has no doubt been addressed in Neighbours fanfic or discussion boards over the years, but the collective wisdom has always been that viewers would never accept another Harold-esque comeback.
Sorry but what “most rumoured and speculated storyline” would that be for those of us not in the know?
The one that this post is all about. There have been rumours about Dee returning “from the dead” pretty much since she disappeared.
The first ep I watched was the night of the wedding and Dee dying.Had to wait until I turned 12 before Mum would let me watch it. Haven’t missed one since.
Omg me to that was the 1st ep i ever watched and hooked ever since aswell cant wait to see how they do this.
In a UK interview she says this will be “a reasonable chunk of time” and only agreed to a plausible storyline. “Had they told me that Dee had been snatched up by aliens or gone off as a secret spy, I think I would have been pretty quick to close the door!”
Love the evil twin idea! Neighbours needs some more over the top storylines …..it is a soap afterall
Was not expecting that! Hope it a longer stint meaning she never really died instead of a dream sequence. Or an identical twin sister trying to scam Toadie!
This is the best news I’ve had all week 😉 I can’t stand Sonia so I’m hoping it really challenges Toadie! 🙂
Very dangerous those backroads of Werribee, they were a long way from Ramsay Street.
Funny when I saw Madeleine last night sharing a scene in Wrong Girl with another former Neighbours star, the thought that she would ever return to Nieghbours crossed my mind.
Amnesia? Just like Harold! Should fire up toadies story line!
