Airdate: Super Bowl 2017

The Patriots & Falcons will meet in Houston, with halftime entertainment from Lady Gaga, on Monday.

The Patriots and Falcons will meet at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas for the NFL Super Bowl 51 on Monday February 6 (Australian time).

Seven will broadcast Live direct from Texas with FOX Sports’ Joe Buck and Troy Aikman commentating, and Erin Andrews and Chris Myers reporting from the sidelines.

Half time entertainment will feature Lady Gaga.

The Falcons were first to secure their spot in the 2017 Super Bowl after defeating the Packers 44-21. The Falcons will be fighting for a win this year after losing their first and only other Super Bowl appearance to the Broncos in 1999. However, the competition will be tough, as the Patriots have a Super Bowl history of 4-4 and will not lose the strike rate without a fight.

Quarterbacks Tom Brady and Matt Ryan will go head to head in the clash. Brady has played in and won three Super Bowls and was awarded Super Bowl MVP each time. This will be Ryan’s first Super Bowl appearance which comes after setting an NFL record in October 2016 for most consecutive games with at least 200 passing yards with 46 straight games.

Lady Gaga, winner of six Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and Academy Award nominee, will headline this year’s Halftime Show. The Super Bowl Halftime Show is the most watched musical event of the year with more than 116.5 million viewers in the U.S. alone last year.

  1. It’s going to be a problem for Seven. They are taking the US FOX feed and the show immediately following it in the US is 24. The commentators will be spruiking it throughout the game. In this country the new series of 24 is being shown by TEN.

  2. I do not understand the game…but I enjoy watching it…I can appreciate the excitement of a touchdown….and sharing chat with my US friends…

  3. Looking forward to both Lady Gaga performing the half time show and the original Schuyler Sisters from “Hamilton” performing “America The Beautiful”. I know this is a football game, but I’m here purely for the entertainment!

    1. You can watch it on YouTube shortly after it airs. It’s far from boring. Think of it as a game of Chess but with real players who weigh 120 kg’s and run like the wind. It is an amazing game if you understand it even a little.

      1. “Amazing” is abit of a strong description. But I do agree once you understand the rules it isn’t a bad sport… except it goes too long, over 3 hours is a long time to commit to any sport. Considering most of that time everyone is just standing around.
