Victorians dug deep yesterday as Seven’s Good Friday Appeal raised a record $17,605,622 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
It pipped last year’s total which was $17,445,624.
Cast members and faces from Home And Away, The Chase Australia, The Secret Daughter, 800 Words, Sunrise, Sunday Night joined with industry performers and hundreds of volunteers to stage the event once again.
This year Seven paused the broadcast for 3 hours to screen a first Good Friday AFL match which included $5 from each ticket sold.

Wow! Great result! Got nothing on little ol WA though – we raised $26 million last Telethon! 🙂
Wow!
Effie the clear highlight of the night. Her duet with Tina was ?
Living in SA I didn’t watch the telethon, but I saw pictures of this performance and just from that alone I was laughing! Two of my favourite performers and Tina’s such a good sport.
Don’t know why state based telethons aren’t carried in other states on their secondary channels. Love a good Telethon. They might even pick up a few extra bucks
Agree..I have been saying this for years…we have kids hospitals also….
I’ve raised it with networks in the past. They don’t seem to get it.
What a wonderful lot of people we have out there. A great achievement! Thanks to all who contributed.
