ABC to screen Helpmann Awards

Good news for theatre lovers with ABC to screen last night’s Helpmann Awards this weekend.

I can’t recall ABC screening a Foxtel-made production before but this is good news.

The awards were held last night at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney.

Enjoy spectacular performances from Australia’s most distinguished live performers at the 2017 Helpmann Awards. Aladdin, Kinky Boots, My Fair Lady and The Book of Mormon are nominated in the Best Musical category. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers are advised that the following program contains images and voices of people who have died.

9:30pm Sunday on ABC.
