Axed: Dark Matter

"To say that I’m incredibly disappointed would be an understatement," says sci-fi creator.

Canadian sci-fi series Dark Matter has been axed by Syfy.

Co-creator Joseph Mallozzi announced online, “It is with great sadness that I confirm the news. Syfy has cancelled Dark Matter after three seasons. To say that I’m incredibly disappointed would be an understatement,” he wrote. “I just want to extend a heartfelt thanks to my amazing crew, my wonderful cast, and to all of you, our incredible fans. You all deserved better.”

The news comes a week after the third season finale of Dark Matter in the US.

It also recently concluded in Australia on Syfy.

  1. This show was fantastic, at least the first 2 seasons were! I will miss these characters! I haven’t seen season 3 beyond a few episodes. Killjoys which just got 2 more seasons should have been canceled after they killed Dr Pawter in season 2!

  2. Very disappointing. I really enjoyed the most recent season and they ended it on a major cliffhanger with various plot threads left hanging.

Of course this is the genre and type of show Australian television should be producing if they had the wherewithal to see its value.
