Renewed: Mum

UK comedy Mum has been renewed for a third season.

The series by Stefan Golaszewski stars Lesley Manville as recently widowed Cathy, starting again after the death of her husband.

The renewal comes ahead of the second series, which is due to transmit early next year in the UK.

A third, six-part series will go into production next year for broadcast later in 2018.

Shane Allen, Controller, BBC Comedy Commissioning says: “Mum is a truly special series, combining microscopic observation of human behaviour with a heart the size of Cathy’s wheelie bin. It’s a privilege to be able to bring another series to BBC Two and we can’t wait to see what Stefan and the team at Big Talk have in store.”

It airs in Australia on BBC First.
