More redevelopment for former GTV9 studios

Former GTV9 Studios in Richmond could become retirement village if building plans are approved.

Around 40% of the former site, known as “Television City” was developed as apartments in 2013.Nine vacated the premises in 2011.

Property developer Lendlease has lodged an updated application for the unfinished parts at 22 Bendigo Street, for 332 dwellings including a 144-bed aged-care facility.

The proposed facilities for residents living in the retirement village include swimming pool, cinema, library, bar, games room and dining area.

If the amended plans are approved, construction will continue in three stages with the final stage wrapping up in 2021.
