Elyse Knowles joins Postcards

Another former Block contestant lands a Nine show, this time Elyse Knowles (pictured, left), winner of last year’s season, who joins Postcards.

She checks out her favourite interior design stores in Melbourne with up with Rebecca Judd this weekend.

First on the list is the always sophisticated Weylandts, a store which sells products inspired by Africa and where Elyse sourced homewares and furniture for her house on The Block. Just around the corner is the family-owned Click On Furniture and another favourite, Tait. In need of a drink after all that shopping, Bec and Elyse head to The Provincial Hotel’s stylish rooftop bar that features artwork from street artist Kit Bennett, and celebrate Elyse’s arrival at Postcards over a cocktail.

Brodie Harper is at one of Daylesford’s latest additions, the impressive Montacute Pavilion. She meets property owner David Marshall and they tour this exquisite Elizabethan house which includes two bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. After a stroll around the beautiful gardens, Brodie takes a short drive to Sault Restaurant for a bite to eat. Looking over the stunning lavender fields, she tucks into a meal straight from the restaurant’s garden.

Meanwhile Shane Delia is spending the day cooking with internationally acclaimed chef Donovan Cooke. Before starting in the kitchen, they pop into the Queen Victoria Market to pick up some delicious fresh produce, including fish from Out Of The Blue and vegetables from Fresh Generation. With the ingredients in hand they head to Donovan’s restaurant, Ryne, to cook up a storm.

And we find Shane Crawford visiting St Andrews Beach Brewery, the newest brewery to open on the Mornington Peninsula. This former horse-training facility, once home to Makybe Diva, has turned the stables into 16 funky dining areas. Shane enjoys a yummy reuben sandwich and a pale ale, then down the road he finds the Red Gum BBQ, a restaurant that specialises in slow-cooked, American-styled meats. Shane meets owners Martin and Melissa Goffin, who give him a BBQ Pitmaster Class before he tries some tasty brisket.
