Mark Llewellyn departs Seven

Current affairs producer departed Seven after his contract ended without renewal.

Current affairs producer Mark Llewellyn departed Seven on Friday March 9th after his contract ended without renewal.

Llewellyn left, reportedly on good terms, after Seven ditched Murder Uncovered. He joined the network in 2006. Stories developed for the show, including the Beaumont Children, shifted to Seven News.

He was a founding producer of Sunday Night, alongside Adam Boland, but was suspended in 2014 following an altercation with a producer and shifted to a new role.

TV tragics will be bemused to note his departure on March 9 was the same day Jessica Rowe announced her departure from Studio 10.

A 2006 affidavit from Llewellyn when he was at Nine claimed then-CEO Eddie McGuire had said in an executive meeting about Today, “What are we gonna do about Jessica? When should we bone her? I reckon it should be next week.”

McGuire denied using the term.

Seven declined to comment.
