The Middle films last ever episode

US comedy The Middle has filmed its final US episode after 9 seasons.

Star Patricia Heaton posted on social media that the there was applause and tears as the show wrapped, followed by a celebratory wrap party.

But as she left the studio reality sank in.

“I got in my car, rolled down the window, that’s when hit me,” she said. “I wasn’t going to get another call sheet for Monday. This is the last time I’ll be on this lot for this wonderful show.”

An hour-long finale is due in the US later this year.
