Airdate: 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Kelly Clarkson hosts music awards show screening on [V] in May.

Music clip channel [V] will screen the 2018 Billboard Music Awards Live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, hosted by Kelly Clarkson.

“To prepare for hosting the Billboard Music Awards, I already have 20 costume changes planned,” Clarkson said.

“I will be flying in like my girl P!nk, and calling Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman for jokes. Well, or I’m just gonna show up and celebrate my favourite artists and get to know a few more. Yeah, maybe I’ll go with that plan.”

Fraser Stark, General Manager of Foxtel’s Arts & Music channels said, “With the nominations being led by some of the hit channel’s current mainstays – Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar – it’s good to know that the only place to watch the Billboards Live this year is on [V] – live on-air and streaming via Foxtel Now”.

The Billboard Music Awards create massive moments in pop culture history. From the 2014 ground-breaking hologram performance of ‘Slave to the Rhythm’, by the late Michael Jackson, to Beyonce’s visually stunning, girl powered choreography for Run the World in 2012. And when pop stars Brittany Spears and Rhianna hooked up in 2011 to perform the killer smash hit ‘S&M’, it made worldwide news.

This year, the only place to catch the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, will be on Australia’s coolest music channel – [V], from 10am Monday May 21.

Hosted by global superstar vocalist Kelly Clarkson, the mega, three-hour music fest will be stacked with the hottest musical acts and unexpected collaborations, as the winners of the 2018 BBMA’s are crowned, and the industry celebrates 60 years of the Billboard Hot 100.

All three artists are competing against Canadian rap artist Drake (9 noms), and pop princess Taylor Swift (5 noms ) for the hotly contested Top Artist Award.

Rapper, Post Malone, a fave with [V] viewers, is up for 13 BBMAs in 12 categories, while Justin Bieber and Cardi B are tied with 8 nominations, and the boys behind the worldwide smash “Despacito,” Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, have 7 apiece.
