James Bracey to step in as host of NRL Footy Show

100% Footy host will fill-in for Erin Molan on Thursdays when she begins maternity leave.

100% Footy host James Bracey will assume hosting duties on the NRL Footy Show when Erin Molan begins maternity leave from mid-May.

She will return later in the year.

The show will also broadcast from the ground after Thursday Night Football.

“Sean and I are so excited to meet our baby. We can’t wait!” said Molan.

“We just hope Bub is polite enough to come before or at least in between State of Origin matches!”

“We want to thank all the wonderful people who have sent through their best wishes and particularly those who have assured me ‘It won’t hurt a bit’… majority male!

“I’m excited for this next phase and also looking forward to introducing the newest member of our family to everyone at Nine.”

The Footy Show has a rich history of success over its quarter of a century on the air,” said Bracey.

“Erin does such a fantastic job in her role as host, and I hope I can add something off the bench until she’s fit and ready to return.”

Meanwhile Peter Sterling will return to hosting duties on the NRL Sunday Footy Show for the same duration. Sterling previously hosted the program for over two decades, from 1993 to 2015.

  1. Bracey would have been a much better host of the Thursday night footy show ahead of Molan. She’s simply not in the same ‘league’ as hosts like Yvonne Sampson (fox sports).
Bracey is a great talent and the show will be very watchable with him as host.
