CNN Business Traveller: June 2

Richard Quest continues to explore the historic "Kangaroo Route."

CNN Business Traveller‘s Richard Quest continues to explore the evolution of the historic “Kangaroo Route”, in the second of a special two-part series.

In this episode, host Richard Quest sits down with Qantas CEO Alan Joyce on board QF9, the first-ever nonstop passenger service from Australia to London. The program explores the flight’s aviation milestone, the long-haul science in which passengers are participating and the $2 billion turnaround by Qantas.

Simultaneously, the program sees Quest flying on the original Kangaroo Route as it was in 1947: multiple stops in multiple countries, dressed in 1940s clothing. He overnights in Cairo at a grand, historic hotel and visits the great pyramids. He also meets with Egypt’s first female tourism minister to examine the country’s effort to bring back travellers.

His last stop is a visit to the ancient city that was the final stop on the Kangaroo Route, Rome. No trip to this Italian city would be complete without photos on the Spanish Steps and a walk around the Colosseum.

3pm Saturday 2nd June  on CNN.
