I watched Masterchef and was once again pleasantly surprised. Noone bitched or moaned or called other contestants ‘arseholes’. It was all about the cooking. And the contestants all appeared to be nice people. And Ten must be happy with the demos. Once again they win demos – just like Bachelor in Paradise did. I think it will do very well again this year.

  2. Every other day someone is writing that the networks are losing veiewers and damaging their appeal because they throw controversial people in the mix with these reality shows and they should learn some lesson. Ummm hello? Who are you kidding when you keep saying this? These shows always rate consistently well and the formula definitely works. If they were all nice and sugar coated, then it wouldn’t be entertainment. Pure and simple.

    • Agree to a point but for me it will be the end of FTA TV viewing, if that is all they offer. Fake drama by amateurs is of no interest to me at all. When I post I hope network staff read it. I don’t want FTA TV to die but it surely will if this rubbish keeps up. Sadly I have to agree with a lot of what you said but hope FTA TV will change direction soon. Masterchef is great TV viewing to me 🙂

      • Oh I can definitely see your point wolfie.. but i must admit, I take great guilty pleasure in watching The bachelor and shows alike for the drama! 👏🏼👏🏼

  3. buggithomas not true. The Voice ratings were its highest for a Monday night last night . My comment was in relation to Sully stating that the only reason the Voice ratings were up was due promos for that episode of controversy.(Isn’t that what MKR did relentlessly) Was it higher due to the so called controversial episode or because MKR was finished ? (May be a bit of both) Only time will tell if this is a one off or not .This was not a criticism of Master Chef only an observation. I hope MasterChef flogs all the other reality shows against it

    • harrypotter1994

Stan isn’t big enough in Australia anymore. He spent years in NZ releasing an album in that only gt released in NZ and being a judge on their X Factor for a few seasons.

  4. Masterchef has been all about quality cooking for many years now and for 7 month be4 the show commenced they searched the nation for excellent and capable home cooks and that is exactly what we got last night. I am delighted Masterchef stays about cooking and not scripted made up drama and storms in a teacup such as MKR. If viewers support this type of show then Australian FTA TV may have some hope yet.

We did not watch the Voice last night as that is all about the judges and sop stories for almost every contestant these days. There are some good singers on it though but will they win? The Voice does not produce stars like Australian Idol did. & & 9 will be watching OzTam ratings to see which formula is wiser. Audiences are getting angry about all the fake manipulation 🙁

  5. Ten above 20%! And MasterChef Number 1 in the demos!! 890k, hope that only grows. Voice only got what it got because of promos for that episode of controversy.
