The Point has Eurovision (and Budget) fever this week, chatting to Jessica Mauboy and 2017 entrant Isaiah Firebrace.

This week, NITV’s flagship news and current affairs program, The Point looks at the Federal Budget and what it means for Indigenous people across the nation. NITV’s political correspondent Nakari Thorpe breaks down the winners and losses of the Budget, and will provide analysis of the Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten’s Budget reply. Indigenous Affairs Minister Nigel Scullion will join the program from Canberra.

The Point’s co-hosts, Rachael Hocking and John Paul Janke will be joined on the panel this week by Rod Liddle, co-chair for the National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples, which is the country’s elected representative body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Finally, The Point has Eurovision fever! On the eve of Jessica Mauboy’s performance at Eurovision, Australia’s 2017 contestant, Isaiah Firebrace will be live on the program. Also pumping up the Eurovision hype, presenter Karla Grant sits down with Jessica to get all the inside information about this year’s competition, from where she thinks she’ll rank to the design of her dress and her thoughts on the other competitors.
