For all the talk of TEN needing to do something else at 5pm (me included), starting to wonder now if they could actually get something else to do better than the News. Ten’s News ratings are an average for the whole hour while Hot Seat and The Chase are a 5pm and 5:30pm breakdown, if it was over the whole hour it would likely break down to less than the 5:30pm figures. TEN probably get an influx at 5:30pm like The Chase and Hot Seat as well, just doesn’t show up as much.

Though maybe my thoughts of running TEN News from 5:30pm – 6:30pm may get an increase, perhaps what they put in at 5pm may not make that move worth it overall especially if it’s 3 x Game Shows battling it out (The Project need to get a bump from following straight on from the News).

    • I don’t think Ten will try any more changes with their flagship 5pm news service nor The Project, which are bedded in for years now.
What Ten should concentrate on is getting more main stream sport and some really good TV shows and maybe some CBS special news coverage outside the 5 to 6pm time slot.
Sport coverage must be increased for real success imho.

Yeah I honestly don’t think it is worth it now, the above was me conceding that really, would love to know if TEN News gets a bump up at 5:30pm, however unless they code differently for ratings will never really know. Really think The Project should follow the News and TEN have their Masterchefs and what not start at 7pm as it worked for then having those on then before, but yeah the horse has bolted on all that now.

  2. Can someone shed some light as to why The chase and Hot seat are in the top 20 twice? As far as I’m aware, they’re both only on once daily ?

  3. Some great cooks on Masterchef this year, even better than last year. Still no nasties too. So we really enjoy this show once again. Looking forward to the slimmer Nigella next week but I loved the old one too 🙂 Nigella is not shy & tells it like it is in a nice way, even if the other judges differ in opinion. I like it how some of them make test samples & taste them to ensure the judges are not disappointed with what they cooked.

Overload of nasty stuff on 7 & 9 is back firing & then the wedding – oh boy I like the couple itself but how many shows can you watch, telling the same stories. I feel sorry for Meghan due to the antics of her dad and siblings 🙁

  4. Interesting that all of a sudden Hot Seat and The Chase are locked in a very tight battle. Hot Seat has made a real comeback recently. The Royal Wedding shows bombed, not surprising. Viewer fatigue!
