UK drama which centres around the merger of two schools in Yorkshire returns to BBC First.

Season 2 of UK drama Ackley Bridge begins on BBC First in July.

The series, set in a fictional Yorkshire town, centres around the merger of two schools in a segregated Anglo and Asian community due to budget cuts.

Created by Ayub Khan Din (East is East), Kevin Erlis (Shameless) and Malcolm Campbell (Shameless, What Richard Did) it stars Jo Joyner, Paul Nicholls, Arsher Ali, Liz White and Sunetra Sarker.

The 12 part series began screening in the UK earlier this month.
