Toni Collette will feature in an upcoming Netflix drama Unbelievable, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning article “An Unbelievable Story of Rape.”
She will be joined by Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Godless) and Kaitlyn Dever (Last Man Standing) in the true story of Marie (Dever), a teenager who was charged with lying about having been raped, and the two female detectives who followed a twisting path to arrive at the truth.
Collette and Wever will both play the detectives, whose lives become intertwined in their mutual pursuit of a possible serial rapist.
Lisa Cholodenko (Olive Kitteridge, The L Word, Six Feet Under) is set to direct and executive produce the first three episodes.
Toni Collette is also set to star in Wanderlust, a co-production between BBC One and Netflix.

She has never been anything less than amazing in everything she’s ever been in. A remarkable career.
Hereditary was a bit of a letdown.
I thought Toni’s performance was great in Hereditary, but I agree that the movie didn’t live up to all the hype
She was great in the therapy group scene. There was a disconnect in the marketing of the film setting up an expectation of the next Exorcist. Nothing like it in the end. My sympathies for characters dissipated the more the film went on.
I agree there was serious disconnect in the marketing of that film. Bang on David. The film was a confused mess that descended into what felt like a kitchen sink scenery of absurdity by the end… But her performance was incredible and deserves to be considered for an Oscar… the scene where she’s yelling at her son at the dinner table is a masterclass in acting. She’s just a superb on screen presence.
