US network picks up Family Food Fight

The format to Family Food Fight has been picked up by ABC network in the US.

ABC has given it an eight-episode order, which will feature eight American families facing off in the kitchen.

Created by Endemol Shine Australia Family Food Fight is an original format developed with Nine.

Endemol Shine North America will produce the series with cookbook author and food personality Ayesha Curry as both host and one of the judges.

Lisa Perrin, CEO of Creative Networks, Endemol Shine Group said; “We are incredibly proud of Family Food Fight at Endemol Shine Group. It is a fresh, fun and diverse show which celebrates all the best aspects of a successful family friendly format. We’re sure that deal with ABC in the US will supercharge interest in the series in other territories and look forward to seeing what the teams do with it for the ABC audience.”

Mark Fennessy CEO at Endemol Shine Australia added; “We’re delighted that Family Food Fight is set to go international with a new home and partner in ABC with the very fabulous Ayesha Curry. As the second Australian series ramps up we’re confident this is the first of many new territories taking on such a unique format that puts passionate multi-cultural and multi-generational foodie families to the test”

Nine renewed the series for a second season due later this year, after a moderate ratings performance.

  1. I like this show as it celebrates food & other cultures & like MasterChef celebrates positivity from the contestants towards each other.
I hope the Americans don’t turn it into a bitchfest like the US version of MasterChef where the contestants video pieces are all about slamming other contestants

  2. When you see the demographics that cooking shows still achieve (MasterChef, MLR), why wouldn’t Nine continue to work with FFF for the same benefits and Endemol Shine look at expansions overseas.

  3. If I had to guess, ABC want something to replace Great American Bake Off (which was moderately sucessful around the Holidays but was put on hiatus mid-season as judge Johnny Iuzzini was accused of Inappropriate Sexual Stuff).
