5 Comments:

  1. So Melbourne, who have consistently had the highest viewer numbers for Love Island all season, had 5000 people switch off for winner announced? Makes no sense whatsoever.

  2. Jᴏʜɴɴʏ1ᴘ5

I know you probably can’t David as they likely don’t release them for the secondary channels, however it’d be interesting to see what Love Islands demographic breakdown is. As if the majority are in the 16-39 demographic (even 150,000 say), then that is a good figure for Nine, especially for targeting advertisers. Like back in the day when KFC where the main sponsors of Big Brother then hitting the 16-39 demo would have been enticing to them and it kind of opens up what shows could go on the secondary ones (advertiser specific).

    • They absolutely do. Last night (multi-channels):

      25-54: Love Island finale No. 1 (110k), winner No. 2 (107k).

      18-49: finale (115k) No. 1, winner No. 2 (113k)

      16-39s (target demographic): finale No. 1 (84k), winner (80k).

      • Jᴏʜɴɴʏ1ᴘ5

        Thank you.

So likely would not have made the top ten in combined with all other channels, was thinking it may have been 16-39 that carried it. However not so and really not good based on all of those, really would have thought it would get ahead of the AFL at least in the 18-39, which would have made it worthwhile.

Weird how people dropped off for the winner part of the show in all demos.
