Marlon Wayans will play six different characters in an upcoming Netflix film Sextuplets.

Sextuplets tells the story of Alan (Marlon Wayans), a man embarking on a personal journey to meet his birth mother before the arrival of his first child. When Alan meets his brother, Russell, he discovers that he was born a sextuplet and decides to seek out his four other siblings (all played by Wayans). Together, the two brothers set out on a road trip to track down the rest of the family that they’ve never known, and Alan quickly realises he may have gotten more than he bargained for.

The script is written by Mike Glock (Return of the Mac), Rick Alvarez and Marlon Wayans and will be directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Naked)

“Excited to be in business with Netflix on yet another project. I love how they embrace comedy and diversity. I am looking forward to doing the thing I love most… comedy,” said Wayans.

Rick Alvarez added, “Ever since we received the script from Nathan Reimann, Marlon and I have considered this movie a labor of love. Couldn’t be happier to team up once again with Mike Tiddes and Netflix.”

It is due to begin filming in September in Atlanta, for a 2019 release.

  1. I would say that Marlon Wayons must have a three show deal with Netflix which I also suspect must be the way Netflix do business with other well known stars including Will Smith. ‘Naked’ was Mr Wayons last effort for Netflix which though lightweight was mostly watchable. Netflix obviously want to diversify their content and American audiences are a prime revenue source but they should tighten up their scripted content more and match recent HBO shows like Sharp Objects, there doesn’t seem to be a question about budget for Netflix just a lack of consistency for making quality products that justify the expense to make them.
