More cast step into The Hot Zone

Topher Grace, Noah Emmerich & James D’Arcy join Julianna Margulies in Ebola virus drama.

National Geographic has announced further cast for upcoming drama The Hot Zone, which stars Julianna Margulies.

Based on the  best-seller by Richard Preston, the 6 part series is inspired by the true story of the origins of the Ebola virus and its first arrival on US soil in 1989.

Joining the cast are Noah Emmerich, Liam Cunningham, Topher Grace, (pictured) James D’Arcy, Paul James, Nick Searcy, Robert Wisdom and Robert Sean Leonard.

Production is underway in Toronto and will also shoot in South Africa. It will premiere globally on National Geographic in 2019.

The Hot Zone is executive produced by Lynda Obst Production’s Lynda Obst and Scott Free Production’s Ridley Scott and David Zucker. Michael Uppendahl is also an executive producer. For National Geographic, Carolyn G. Bernstein is executive vice president and head of global scripted development and production. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, Lynda Obst Productions, Scott Free Productions, Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson and Jeff Vintar.
